My degrees were obtained in the United States: B.Sc. Sociology – Clayton State University – Morrow, GA.; M. Ed. Adult Education and Curriculum Development – Strayer University, Atlanta, GA.; Dr. of Education (2019) – Curriculum and Instruction (Northcentral University, Prescott Valley, AZ. Living in the United States afforded me opportunities to grow and develop, both in my personal and professional life.
More than twenty-five years in various administrative and educational positions in the United States and Liberia. Highly accomplished Educator in Adult Education, Curriculum Development, Master Trainer/Instructor K –12, and Lecturer in Higher Education. I founded the Alpha Learning Institute in 2014, an Adult Literacy program which was dissolved due to the Ebola Crisis in Liberia. Between 2016 to 2018 I was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Interim President of the Grand Bassa Community College; later, Principal: Our Lady of Grace International School/Liberia; currently, Vice President for Academic Support Services – African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) and Founder/CEO – E. Tyson and Maryann Woods Educational Foundation – an International Nonprofit Organization offering educational scholarships for women who want to pursue a degree in the field of Education, preparing students to successfully pass the West African Examination Exams, and providing shoes for students in the elementary grades.

Message to Students: Above all – my HEART says that you are a success! Yes, there are challenges as in any areas of our lives, but with God as your helper, you will be a success story. Failure should not be a message from your HEART! Allow perseverance and consistency to guide you. As the Bible says – Instruction (Education) is your life. Pursue Education, whether it is academic or career – you will never go wrong.
Message to educators: It is time that we rise up and be EDUCATORS! It is expedient that we pursue excellence in what we present to our students. We will be judged the hardest, so it is incumbent upon us to create safe, clean, and excellent spaces for the future of the children whose minds we mold. My HEART goes out to you, but we are to present ourselves as Intentional Educators! We can and will rise above the criticisms when we do and say the right things. Continue to strive to upgrade your credentials. We live in a Global society! Let us become: EDUCATORS FOR A CHANGING WORLD!
